SUMMARY:Rockscramblers
DESCRIPTION:“Out of shadows\, creeping\, crawling…” \n\n\n\nOur summer exhibition for children\, Rockscramblers\, is inspired by the illustrated poetry of poet Mats Söderlund and illustrator Kathrina Skarðsá that was published in the anthology The Length and Breadth of the Nordic Region: Ecocritical currents in Nordic children’s and young people’s literature earlier this year (2021) under the Swedish title Stenskravlare. The antology was produced by the Nordic House in Reykjavík and is a part of the three-year long project LØFTET which is financed by the Nordic Council of Ministry.buy xifaxan online https://www.blendedentalgroup.com/wp-content/languages/new/xifaxan.html no prescription\n This particular anthology is the second in a series of three that will be published and those will all be the result of nordic collaboration between different scholars\, publishers\, writers and illustrators that get the opportunity meet and work together on a yearly summer workshop. \n\n\n\nThe poem Rockscramblers could be interpreted as the story of earth seen from the perspectives of stones and rocks and Skarðsá’s illustrations add a further meaning to the words by ending the story in a bright green and hopeful kind of way. On view are the illustrations and poetry in its original form and those interact with a mysterious recording of Söderlund himself reading his poem. Inspired by Skarðsá’s illustrations we have built a cave where young visitors can have a cozy time and try out our new climbing wall! The popular magnetic wall from our last exhibiton has also gotten an updated look. \n\n\n\nWelcome to the children’s library to experience the fantasy-world of the rockscramblers!

SUMMARY:Líf í geimnum
Sagan og myndirnar voru birtar fyrr á þessu ári (2022) í safnritinu The Length and Breadth of the Nordic Region.

SUMMARY:Life in the Universe
DESCRIPTION:Liv is a girl that lives on the top floor in a house in the city\, just beneath the starry sky. Liv’s father has told her that space is constantly expanding\, like a balloon that is being blown up more and more. With her telescope\, Liv looks up into space and takes on a journey in a spaceship with a girl that has been travelling in space since the Space Race many decades ago. In space\, light years away from Earth\, Liv gets to visit a planet which is the home of her new friend as well as a lonely black dog. How would life be away from the citylights and what Liv calls a home? How would you think it would be like to experience the world from far above?  \nLiv in Space is a new children’s exhibition which is inspired by an illustrated story of the same name\, created in collaboration between Zakiya Ajmi (b. 1992) and Sara Lundberg (b. 1971). The story and illustrations were published earlier this year (2022) in the anthology The Length and Breadth of the Nordic Region. The anthology was produced by the Nordic House as a part of the three-year project LØFTET\, which is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. This edition is the last in the anthology in a series of three\, all of which are the result of Nordic collaboration between various researchers\, publishers\, authors and illustrators who have had the opportunity to work together at the project’s annual summer seminars.

SUMMARY:Tilraun – Æðarrækt
DESCRIPTION:Þverfagleg sýning um sjálfbært sambýli æðarfugla og manna á Íslandi\, í Danmörku og Noregi.
DESCRIPTION:An artistic research project on a symbiotic relationship between eider and farmer by a group of designers and artists from Denmark\, Iceland and Norway. Learning from this sustainable but gradually declining nordic heritage\, the project gives rise to innovation and production of new artworks. \n\n\nThe eider duck and the farmer have a mutually beneficial relationship. The farmer protects the duck during nesting and in return gathers the remaining down from the nest. The valuable down\, claimed to be the best insulating material in the world\, is a side-product that the duck leaves behind. The eider returns every year to the same farmer\, a life-time symbiotic relationship between duck and human. \nThe eider and eider farming are under threat by climate change as well as by changes in lifestyle\, with people moving from the farmlands into cities. Learning from this sustainable but gradually declining nordic heritage\, the project gives rise to innovation and production of new artworks. Fresh viewpoints emerge\, as well as thoughts on how we treat our environment and harvest our planet. \nExperiment – Eider and Farmer\, is more than an exhibition. It is an artistic research project that started in the year 2019\, with a group of outstanding artists from Denmark\, Iceland and Norway with diverse backgrounds in Design\, Architecture\, Fine Art\, Music\, Craft\, Fashion and Performing Arts. Since the eider stays on land only around 25 days per year\, the artists wanted to have more opportunities to visit the ducks so therefor stretched the research period over three years. They went on group excursions as well as on individual visits\, to get to know a broad spectrum of eider farmers\, their diverse methods and the eiders habitats. \nEider ducks make sounds as if they’ve just been told something interesting\, or even saucy. Ah-hoo\, Ah-hoo!! Like a group of gossiping ladies. It is easy to be charmed by this lovely chorus. We hope this project inspires you. May there be plenty of AH-HOO moments in the exhibition as well as the next time you come across an Eider. \n\nExperiment – Eider and Farmer will open in Hvelfing on 7th of May at 17:00 and run until 31st of July.  \n\nCurators: Hildur Steinþórsdóttir & Rúna Thors \nArtists:\nAnne Lass\, Lisbeth Burian & Rikke Houd\nArnhildur Pálmadóttir & Samuel T. SUMMARY:GOETHE MORPH*: A Growing Body of Evidence
DESCRIPTION:From September 5-15\, 2022\, Goethe Morph* invite the public to a holistic program of think tanks and performances\, lectures and exhibitions – on site at Nordic House Reykjavík\, as well as outdoors and digitally.\nThe exhibition A Growing Body of Evidence will be open in Hvelfing at the Nordic House in Reykjavík          10th Sep – 23rd Dec \nWe live in a crisis-ridden time of hesitation and are at odds in our pursuit of a positive common future and in addressing the pressing problems of our time. While the human capacity to generate ideas seems limitless\, our cerebral potential as architects of planetary exploitation and destruction could arguably be more aligned with our bodily and emotional intelligence. It might enable us to reshape our relationship with the natural world and our fellow inhabitants. Goethe Morph* Iceland\, a transcultural intervention of the Goethe-Institut and Nordic House Reykjavík\, provides a platform for artists\, thinkers and activists from Iceland\, Germany\, Greenland\, Kenya\, Mali\, Poland\, and Syria to share their ideas along a unifying theme: How we always wanted to have lived. \nGoethe Morph* Iceland                     5th Sep – 15th Sep 2022\nA Growing Body of Evidence         10th Sep – 23rd Dec 2022 \nCurators: Arnbjörg María Danielsen and Thomas Schaupp. \nMore information to come\, in the meantime please visit their website and social media.

SUMMARY:Sequences XI: Get ekki séð — Vatn
DESCRIPTION:Sýningin sprettur úr myrkri sem umlykur. \nListamenn: \nAnna Niskanen (FI) \nGústav Geir Bollason (IS) \nEdith Karlson (EE) \nEmilija Škarnulytė (LT) \nKatja Novitskova (EE) \nGuðrún Vera Hjartardóttir (IS) \nSýningarstjórar:Marika Agu\, Maria Arusoo\, Kaarin Kivirähk\, Sten Ojavee (Estonian Centre for Contemporary Art)

SUMMARY:Sequences XI: Can´t see— Water
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition stems from the surrounding darkness. It starts from the feeling that the world is crumbling in our hands\, while a strong wind blows the last of its remains even further. We cannot see the ever-growing threat of ecological destruction\, just as we cannot see the potential new directions and life forms rising from the ruins of the old world.\nDeep ocean surrounds the island and a soggy swamp surrounds the exhibition house. Massive waves and an endless abyss create visions of mythical creatures swimming around abandoned infrastructures\, left there from an unknown time.\nThe exhibition will have a performative intervention by Edith Karlson.\nArtists:\nAnna Niskanen\nBrák Jónsdóttir\nEdith Karlson\nEmilija Škarnulytė\nGuðrún Vera Hjartardóttir\nGústav Geir Bollason\nKatja Novitskova\nNaima Neidre\n\n\nCurators: Marika Agu\, Maria Arusoo\, Kaarin Kivirähk\, Sten Ojavee (Estonian Centre for Contemporary Art)
