DESCRIPTION:Verkið PUTI er félagsleg kóreógrafía sem endurspeglar ofurraunveruleika kynþáttahlutverka og valdastigveldi. Verkið vitnar í átta klukkutíma vinnudag. \nÞótt frásagnirnar séu sundurleitar\, er kjarninn hinn sami. Við viljum varpa ljósi á sundraðan hóp\, fólk sem er rótlaust\, er í stöðugri endurnýjun og berst við að bjarga arfleifð sinni í ljósi menningarlegs tjóns. Með blygðunarlausum heiðarleika og varnarleysi\, tekur hópurinn á málefnum sem þessum. Í tilfelli PUTI; upplifun filippseyskra innflytjenda á Íslandi\, tilfærslu og kynþáttafordóma. \nOpnunargjörningur \nLucky 3 (st. 2019) er listahópur stofnaður af Darren Mark\, Dýrfinnu Benitu Basalan og Melanie Ubaldo; íslenskir listamenn af filippeyskum uppruna. \nDarren Mark (f. 1993) útskrifaðist með BA próf í fatahönnun frá Listaháskóla Íslands árið 2017. Hann flutti til Íslands frá Filippseyjum aðeins átta ára gamall ásamt fjölskyldu sinni. Hann vinnur aðallega við fatahönnun\, hann fæst við að taka í sundur og setja flíkur saman til þess að endurnýta og betrumbæta þær og búa til nýjar flíkur. Darren hefur áður sýnt á Dutch Design Week í Eindhoven\, Designer’s Nest – Copenhagen Fashion Week  og á Hönnunarmars í Reykjavík. \nDýrfinna Benita Basalan (f. 1992) vinnur sem myndlistarmaður en er líka þekkt sem tónlistarkonan Countess Malaise. Dýrfinna er fædd og uppalin á Íslandi og á íslenskan föður. Hún útskrifaðist með BA í myndlist og hönnun frá Gerrit Rietveld Academie í Amsterdam árið 2018. Dýrfinna vinnur út frá mörgum miðlum og takast verk hennar oft á um sjálfsmynd\, samfélag og einsemd. Dýrfinna er partur af listamannahópnum The Blue Collective\, hópur alþjóðlegra listamanna sem eru hinsegin og af jaðarsettum kynþáttahópum. Með þessum listahópi hefur Dýrfinna m.a. sett upp sýningar í Juliette Jongma gallerí\, Amsterdam og í Decoratillier í Brussels í samstarfi við Living Leaving Dacota. \nMelanie Ubaldo (f. 1992) útskrifaðist með BA í myndlist frá Listaháskóla Íslands árið 2016. Í verkum Melanie er myndefni og texti órjúfanleg heild. \nSjá má sundurleit málverk sem innihalda texta sem minnir helst á veggjakrot. Textinn vísar í hennar eigin reynslu af fordómafullri hegðun annarra í hennar garð. Verkin afhjúpa valdið sem felst í fordómum og eyðandi áhrif þeirra á þolendur. Melanie hefur áður sýnt í Kling og Bang og hefur tekið þátt í öðrum hópsýningum hérlendis og erlendis til að mynda í Hafnarborg\, Gerðarsafni\, hátíðinni Cycle – Music and Art festival og nýlega í Pavilion Nordico í Argentínu. Jafnframt er verk hennar að finna í safneign Listasafns Reykjavíkur.

SUMMARY:SEQUENCES X - Lucky 3: PUTI
DESCRIPTION:The piece PUTI is a social choreography that reflects hyperreality\, racial roles and hierarchy by referencing an 8-hour workday. \nUnreliable narrators at best\, our voices speak of diaspora-of people experiencing constant displacement\, renovation and salvaging heritage in the face of cultural loss. With an unapologetically unabashed honesty and vulnerability\, the collective addresses issues\, but not limited to; the Filipino immigrant experience in Iceland\, displacement and racism. \nOpening Performance \nLucky 3 (est. 2019)  is a collective founded by Darren Mark\, Dýrfinna Benita Basalan\, and Melanie Ubaldo; Icelandic artists of Filipino origins. \nDarren Mark (b. 1993) graduated with a BA degree in Fashion Design from the IUA in 2017. He moved to Iceland from the Philippines when he was only eight years old with his family. Darren has exhibited at Dutch Design Week Eindhoven\, Designer’s Nest- Copenhagen Fashion Week and Design March. He mainly works with clothing\, from design and artistic aspects where the deconstruction-reconstruction method is applied\, sustainability is also an important part of his working methods were discarded or second hand clothes\, deadstock materials are thought of and used as a resource alongside new materials for creations. \nDýrfinna Benita Basalan (b. 1992) also known under her artist name Countess Malaise\, is born and raised in Iceland. She graduated with a BA in Art and Design from Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 2018 and has been an active artist in multiple disciplines and venues. Dýrfinna is also a member of The Blue Collective which is a collective of artists who work exploring  contemporary philosophical thematics in an amorphous format. In her painting and drawing\, her style often found femme and fantastical and full of fantasy. \nMelanie Ubaldo (b. 1992) graduated with a BA in Fine Arts from the IUA in 2016 and is currently in the MA Fine Arts program in the IUA. In Melanie’s work\, image and text are inextricably linked\, where deconstructionist paintings incorporate text with graffiti-like vandalism oftentimes of her own crude experiences of others preconceptions\, thus exposing the power of immediate\, unreflected judgment. She has taken part in various exhibitions at home and abroad. Her work has since been acquired by the Reykjavik Museum for its permanent collection. \n
