SUMMARY:Endurofið
DESCRIPTION:Endurofið is a research project centered around sustainability in fashion\, up-cycling and recycling discarded clothing. We invite you to the opening of our exhibition 12.buy viagra pack online herbalshifa.co.uk/wp-content/themes/twentytwentytwo/inc/patterns/en/viagra-pack.html no prescription\n August between 17-20 at Flæði\, Vesturgata 17. \n\n\n\nWhile looking into the heritage of Icelandic weaving and how woven cloth was legally used as currency in Medieval times\, we are looking at the perceived worth of textiles today and aiming towards translating woven fabrics into contemporary textiles and clothing\, while keeping our focus on a sustainable approach. The fabrics are woven on wooden boards and into frames\, as well as straight into clothing that has been discarded. \n\n\n\nThe project is funded by the Icelandic Student Innovation Fund. We are Ása Bríet Brattaberg\, womenswear student at Central Saint Martins\, and Álfrún Pálmadóttir\, folklore student at The University of Iceland\, and both of us have a diploma in Textile design. Consulting during the project period is Ólafur Rastrick\, Associate Professor at the University of Iceland\, and Ragna Fróða\, director of Edelkoort inc. \n\n\n\nOpening hours: 12. ágúst: 17-20 13. ágúst: 13-17 14. ágúst: 13-17

SUMMARY:Rhythms
DESCRIPTION:‘Rhythms’ features new work by Kati Gausmann (Berlin) and Miranda Blennerhassett (Dublin). \nTheir practices are united by an interest in time\, repetition and rhythm.buy metformin online https://noprescriptionrxbuyonline.com/metformin.html no prescription\n Whether it is working with the vast timescale of geology\, or the more intimate timescale of hours spent in the act of creating traditional decorative craftwork\, both artists use repetitive\, accumulative physical gestures that mark the passing of time. In this respect\, the practices of the artists are also characterised by movement: as a theme and as an essential moment of execution. \nThe exhibition consists of works on paper which relate to traditional Icelandic embroidery patterns\, as well as to stony traces shaped by the geological processes of Iceland. Both artists are currently undertaking residencies at SíM. \nOpening hours:\nThursday 16th | 17 – 20 pm\nFriday 17th– Sunday 19th | 12 – 6 pm

SUMMARY:Olga Komarova: Portraits
DESCRIPTION:Olga Komarova is an emerging artist that has lived in Iceland for the past six years\, and specialises in portrait paintings. She now exhibits her artwork for the first time.\nThe process of creating a portrait is very important to Olga. “I became so fascinated with the process behind making portraits. Through it I am able to view people’s faces in a more mindful manner\, see the stories that they tell me and project — I’ve painted people of any age\, gender\, nationalities and social statuses”.\nThis creative process itself can therefore build special empathy between the artist and the subject where you allow yourself time to reflect more on the faces of your friends and even strangers.\nIn connection to that Olga Komarova wants to invite you to join her on an interactive journey where you have the opportunity to take part in the personal process of creating portraits of your own and hang them on one of the exhibition wall in WHITE BOX.

SUMMARY:Olga Komarova: Innlit í Andlit
DESCRIPTION:Olga Komarova er upprennandi listmálari\, sem hefur búið á Íslandi síðustu sex ár\, og sérhæfir sig í portrett myndum úr olíumálningu. Hún sýnir nú málverk sín í fyrsta skipti.\nSjálft sköpunarferli portrettmyndanna er Olgu mjög mikilvægt. „Ég varð svo hrifin af sköpunarferlinu á bakvið þær. Ég fæ að rýna í andlit og sögurnar sem þau segja og bera með sér — fólk af öllum aldri\, kynjum\, þjóðernum og stéttum“.\nFerlið sjálft getur þannig skapað nánari samkennd með viðfanginu þar sem það krefst þess að þú staldrir við andlit bæði vina sem og ókunnugra.\nOlga Komarova vill því bjóða gestum og gangandi tækifæri til þess að taka þátt í þessu persónulega ferli og skapa eigin portrettmyndir sem verða svo hengdar upp á einn sýningarvegg í WHITE BOX.
