SUMMARY:Hrund Atladóttir: Comes to light
DESCRIPTION:Comes to light is an installation by Hrund Atladóttir composed of lights that will brighten up the current darkness and revive the mental health of visitors during January \nHrund Atladóttir artworks are composed around a timeline and animation plays a large role. For the past years she has been most noticeable for her large video installations in public spaces. This time the internal body clock is the timeline and the animation takes place inside the viewer’s/visitors body. A certain summer light is brought into The Sculpture Garden and the visitors receive a dose of daylight for 24 hrs a day during the darkest time of year. \n“A master clock in the brain coordinates all the biological clocks in a living thing\, keeping the clocks in sync. In vertebrate animals\, including humans\, the master clock is a group of about 20\,000 nerve cells (neurons) that form a structure called the suprachiasmatic nucleus\, or SCN. The SCN is in a part of the brain called the hypothalamus and receives direct input from the eyes.”

DESCRIPTION:SPELL WEATHER amplifies ancient legends and the creatures that thrive there and sheds light on their existence in the modern da\n“The rumor spread from town to town\, person to person\, word of mouth. The threat in the air was real\, yet irrational. Her existence was embodied in the mountain range that surrounded the human world. Whether it was greed\, gluttony\, frenzy or rampant evil\, no one knew until they tried.” \nAvant-garden takes over the Sculpture Garden during the month of December. The exhibition project creates unusual exhibition that last for undecided duration. Avant-garden has been opperating since 2013 and opened shows that emphasize on creating a multileveled sense experience with experimental implementations.

SUMMARY:Guðrún Vera: Rousers
DESCRIPTION: is created when one of our senses\, such as a nose\, takes up residence on a stone\, like lichens. Rousers can be created in most parts of the country\, but in the sculpture park there are twelve Rousers\, all of whom come from Vogabyggð in Reykjavík\, where a new residential area is being built. They are fragments of rock that have just been blasted to create a foundation for a new building. These rocks are really like newborns covered in earthen clay\, like newborn babies with baby fat\, when they were taken from the piles\, still sore and scratched from the violent disintegration of the rock.
