Joe Keys: Turning

In the exhibition ‘Turning’, Joe Keys presents an installation of wooden sculptures. The sculptures are made from oak using a simple framing technique as a method to explore the idea of function and compromise around art objects, as well as the gallery space. On two of the gallery walls, there will be three framed text pieces underlining the literal references within the exhibition.

Skúlptúrarnir, sem eru úr eik, notast við einfalda innrömmunartækni sem aðferðafræði við að kanna hugmyndir um virkni og málamiðlanir, þegar listhluturinn er annars vegar og hins vegar sýningarrýmið. Á tveimur veggjum gallerýsins verða þrjú innrömmuð textaverk sem undirstrika bókstaflegar tilvísanir sýningarinnar.
