Daníel Ágúst Ágústsson: 7mm

8 June, 202325 June, 2023

The exhibition which is entitled “7mm” is an open dialogue that explores the artist’s connection with materiality from a deeply personal standpoint. Daníel Ágúst worked only with textures and visual elements that evoked his feelings towards his childhood and which made him think of specific events in his coming of age story. The artist is usually working within a strictly conceptual framework so this is a milestone exhibition for Daníel.
Daníel Ágúst’s extensive sculptures and installations are made using methods and materials that refer to industry and architecture. His works often test the viewer’s knowledge of his environment, where the connection between understanding and lack of understanding is examined. Daníel Ágúst graduated with a BA degree in fine art from the Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2020. He exhibited in the group show at Kling & Bang in 2022 entitled Three Rearrangements – a Commonality of Escape. Currently, he is working as a part of the design team at 66°North whilst continuing to pursue a career in Visual Art.
The exhibition last until June 25, opened by appointment with the artist.
