Creation of Childhood 2022

This is the ninth exhibition with the title Creation of Childhood. As part of the museum education the aim is to present and stimulate creative work and creative thinking of school children from the age of five to sixteen. Participants each time are children and artists who create works according to the theme, which this time is birds and other animals.
Participating artists this year are Aðalheiður S. Eysteinsdóttir and Helgi Þorgils Friðjónsson.

They are both well known for their art; sculptures and paintings of people and animals. Participating playschool is Lundarsel and the elementary schools Hlíðarskóli, Oddeyrarskóli and Hríseyjarskóli, as well as Akureyri Museum / Toy Museum.
Children from the playschool create their work at the museum under guidance from Aðalheiður S. Eysteinsdóttir and Guðrún Pálína Guðmundsdóttir, who is the museum teacher and curator.
Art teachers from the elementary schools cooperate with their students in creating the works they will exhibit.

Creation of Childhood was in 2020 allotted a-three-year honors grant from The Icelandic Museum Fund.

Þetta er níunda sýningin undir heitinu Sköpun bernskunnar. Hún er sett upp sem hluti af safnfræðslu, með það markmið að gera sýnilegt og örva skapandi starf barna á aldrinum fimm til sextán ára. Þátttakendur hverju sinni eru skólabörn og starfandi myndlistarmenn. Þátttakendurnir vinna verk sem falla að þema sýningarinnar sem að þessu sinni er Fuglar og önnur dýr.
Myndlistarmennirnir sem boðin var þátttaka í ár eru Aðalheiður S.

Leikskólabörnin vinna sín verk á Listasafninu undir handleiðslu Aðalheiðar og Guðrúnar Pálínu Guðmundsdóttur, fræðslufulltrúa og sýningarstjóra. Myndmenntakennarar grunnskólanna sem taka þátt stýra þeirri vinnu sem unnin er sérstaklega fyrir sýninguna í samstarfi við nemendur.
Sköpun bernskunnar hlaut öndvegisstyrk Safnaráðs 2020 til þriggja ára.
