“This year I’m celebrating 40 years of being here in Iceland, and for a large part of that time I’ve been dabbling in drawing, to the annoyance of some and to the amusement of others. For that reason, I wanted to give the people I’ve met over the years and other interested people the opportunity to see into the creativity that resides in me, because some know me as an illustrator, others as a postman or book publisher, a cook, a watercolor painter, a metal worker, a teacher or members of the club and still others as a moody character who does not believe in his opinions.”
Jean Antoine Posocco was born in France in 1961. He came to Iceland in 1983 and studied art at the Icelandic school of Arts and Crafts from 1985-1989.
He launched the first comics course in Iceland in 1994 and took over the publication of the action magazine Blek in1997. He has taken an active part in the art scene with solo and group exhibitions, and comics by him have appeared in newspapers and magazines.
The exhibition runs until November 19. Open every weekday, except Wednesdays between 14:00 and 18:00 but between 12:00 and 17:00 on weekends.
