INSULA CAMPO VERITÀ

Fjölbreyttur hópur listamanna, hönnuða, rithöfunda, og sýningarstjóra frá 6 mismunandi Evrópulöndum hafa komið saman í Verksmiðjunni Hjalteyri í þeim tilgangi að ímynda sér veröld án kapítalískrar hugmyndafræði. Þau vinna saman að því að skapa útópískan smáheim sem ögrar grundvallaratriðunum í því umhverfiseyðandi neyslukerfi sem við lifum og hrærumst í. Verkefnið er 3 vikna félagsleg tilraun og myndlistarsýning þar sem hópurinn mun búa saman í verksmiðjunni þar sem þau deila hugmyndafræði sinni og lífspeki, fara í gönguferðir, taka þátt í pólistískum umræðum og setja upp sýningu. Þau munu vinna með nærsamfélagið og umhverfi Hjalteyrar, afla sér fæðu með fiskveiðum og lifa á landsins gæðum, um leið og þau fylgja eftir siðfræði tilraunastarfseminnar.

A group of diverse group of artists, designers, writers, and curators— representing 6 different European countries, have convened at Verksmidjan Hjalteyri with the purpose of not only imagining a world devoid of capitalistic ideology, but to create a utopic microcosm that seeks to challenge the fundamentals of our current ecocidal consumerist system. Taking the form of an intensive 3 week-long social experiment presented as an art exhibition, the group will live together sharing philosophies, engaging in hikes, performances, and political debates. They will integrate with the local community and source their food through fishing while embracing an ethos of experimentation throughout the residency.
