This work is both an installation and performance. During the day guests can visit and interact with the installation, and in the evening at 8pm Rósa performs in the space.

What happens if we think of contaminations as a collaborative event?
In the performance, Rósa explores transformations that occur through the encounter of water with various materials. Using choreographic methods, she creates a dance of water, air, sound and pigment. Clean water gets contaminated and transforms into uncanny and magical landscapes. images of cell-like microcosmos, aurora borealis, a boiling terrain and vast galaxies arise and are choreographed together with live soundscapes made from water and ice.
Performance: 9th, 10th and 11th of September
Doors at 7:30pm. Starts at 8pm. Admission is 2.000 kr.
The installation will be open from 1pm -6pm on Friday and Saturday 10th and 11th of September.

This work was made in the context of Akademie Schloss Solitude, Rósa’s fellowship is funded by the TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund with the support of the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM), the special program »NEUSTART KULTUR« (BKM) and the State Capital of Stuttgart.
Rósa Ómarsdóttir is an Icelandic dancer and choreographer who works between Iceland, Belgium and Germany. She graduated from PARTS in Brussels in 2014 and has since then created several performances which have been presented around Europe. She has been been nominated several times for the Icelandic Theatre Awards Gríman and awarded in the category Choreography of the Year.
In her artistic practice she explores human and non-human encounters, searching for non-anthropocentric narratives. Her ongoing research deals with finding an ecosystem of humans, objects and invisible forces, exploring the power dynamics which occur in those encounters. Her work is interdisciplinary, interweaving choreography with live sound-production and dynamic scenography. Her work engages with a feminist approach to dramaturgy and performance, enhancing vulnerable and fluctuating tendencies in her choreography, and the decentring of overpowering human and masculine dispositions in performative practices.
Hákon Pálsson is a cinematographer, photographer and stage light designer. He has worked across many disciplines and genres in film, multimedia and stage.
His collaborations with Isaac Julien, Playtime and Stones Against Diamonds, for which he provided cinematography, have been shown in museums and galleries across the world.
He was nominated for Gríman Theatre Awards for Light Design for the work Spills by Rósa, and was awarded BAFTA New Talent Awards for cinematography for the short film No More Shall We Part.
Collaborative Contaminations er nýtt verk eftir Rósu Ómarsdóttur í samstarfi við Hákon Pálsson. Verkið er bæði performans og innsetning. Á daginn geta gestir og gangandi séð verkið sem innsetningu og á kvöldin framkvæmir Rósa performans í rýminu.
Í verkinu skoða þau hvernig hegðun vatns breytist þegar það verður fyrir einhvers konar mengun? Hvað gerist ef við lítum á mengun sem tækifæri til samstarfs?
Í performansinum notar Rósa kóerógrafískar leiðir til að skapa dans fyrir vatn, loft, ljós, hljóð og litarefni. Hreint vatnið verður mengað og umbreytist í töfrandi landslag þar sem ýmsar myndir birtast sem minna m.a. á frumur, norðurljós, sjóðandi leðju eða vetrarbrautir, sem dansa í takt við hljóðheim vatns og íss.

Rósa Ómarsdóttir er dansari og danshöfundur sem hefur starfað bæði á Íslandi, Belgíu og Þýskalandi. Hún útskrifaðist úr PARTS í Brussel árið 2014 og hefur síðan þá samið fjöldadansverka sem hafa vera sýnd víðsvegar um Evrópu. Hún hefur hlotið fjölda tilnefninga til Grímunnar og m.a. hlotið verðlaunin Danshöfundur Ársins. Í listrænu vinnu sinni skoðar hún samband manns og náttúru og leitast eftir ómannmiðlægri nálgun á efnið. Verk hennar eru innblásin af vistkerfi manna, hluta og ósýnilegra afla, með áherslu á valdastrúktúr þar á meðal. Hún vinnur milli miðla og blandar saman kóreógrafíu, lifandi hljóðmyndum, og dýnamískum sviðsmyndum.
Hákon Pálsson er kvikmyndatökumaður, ljósmyndari og lýsingarhönnuður. Hann hefur starfað milli ýmissa miðla og stefna í kvikmyndum, multimedia myndlist og sviðsverkum.
Verk sem hann skaut með Isaac Julien, Playtime og Stones Against Diamonds, hafa verið sýnd í söfnum og galleríum víðsvegar um heiminn. Hann var tilnefndur til Grímunnar fyrir ljósahönnun á verki Rósu ‘Spills’ og vann BAFTA New Talent Awards fyrir kvikmyndatöku á stuttmyndinni ‘No More Shall We Part’
